Britny Sukert is a Certified Athletic Therapist, Practicing Kinesiologist, and a graduate of the Bachelor of Athletic and Exercise Therapy (BAET) Program at Camosun College, Victoria, BC. She is an active member of the Canadian Athletic Therapists Association, Athletic Therapists Association of British Columbia and British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists.
Britny is a small town girl from Horsefly, BC. She moved to Victoria in 2009 to pursue sciences at UVic, to later find her passion was the sport sciences. She has always been involved in sports and lives a very active lifestyle. Since the age of 5, Britny was an avid soccer player. Throughout her years of soccer, she had the chance to play at various levels including provincially. Her interest in living a healthy and active lifestyle lead her down the road of Athletic Therapy.
Britny's clinical experience includes working with athletes of all abilities and levels. This includes working with athletes at the national level, developing programs for individuals with chronic disease, as well as developed post surgical treatment plans to ensure a safe and prompt return to activity. Her experience in the field includes working with the athletics programs at Brentwood College School, Shamrocks Junior A Lacrosse, BC Rugby, WhiteCaps Island Prospects, BC Soccer High Performance Camps, Shawnigan Lake School and University of Northern British Columbia. Britny is a performance partner with EPIC Sport Management in Victoria and head Athletic Therapist with this elite soccer program. To learn more about EPIC, please follow this link. She also partners with SportMedBC as an instructor for sport first aid and taping courses in the Cariboo and lower mainland. Britny is a proud supporter of the Williams Lake Stampeders Senior Mens' Hockey team and can be found on the bench at their home games.
Britny's extensive work with athletes allows Britny to be specialized in musculoskeletal injury assessment and rehabilitation. She believes that every injury can be prevented with the proper education and tools. Her rehabilitation plan may include hands on manual therapy, postural assessment and education on alignment, strengthening exercises, as well as a stretching routine. Britny wants to make sure you have the tools to continue your program through your daily activities to promote a healthy you and program success.
Britny is happy to announce she is a subcontracting Kinesiologist with Creative Therapy Consulting and will be taking ICBC and WorkSafe clientele.
